Connor and Maddie first crossed paths while walking to meet separate friends in the small country town of Heathcote, where they both lived as young teenagers. They both had similar friend groups and knew of each other. At that age, they were still attending high schools in Bendigo and Seymour, which were hours apart in different directions.
After that initial interaction, they didn’t really talk again or see each other for years. A number of years later, their lives had taken very different directions. They’d both had their fun being young, wild, and free.
Then, a simple friend request on Facebook changed everything. Connor and Maddison reconnected and talked for hours on end over the following days, sharing the journeys their lives had taken during the years of no contact.
They decided to meet up again one night. Maddie drove an hour from Kilmore to Montmorency to visit Connor at his mum’s house. After spending the night together, Maddie left early the next morning for work.
Connor leaned into the car to kiss Maddie goodbye, but Maddie hit the accelerator and quickly sped off, almost taking Connor’s head off while he was still hanging out of the window.
A few days later, they decided to meet again, and from there, they never separated.
On July 27th, 2016, they officially started dating. Over the years, they’ve experienced the highest of highs and the lowest of lows together, which has only made their bond stronger. They've also created their own little family with three dogs, one cat, one bird, and two goats.
